Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace. —Albert Schweitzer
In the 1960s, a “peacenik” was someone who opposed war and the use of military force. The word was often used as a derogatory slur against “hippies” and other proponents of peace.
Today, humans kill more animals for food than ever before — literally tens of billions of deaths every year. If that’s not a war, then we don’t know what is. And when people really start seeing these beloved animals as the beautiful, sensitive, sentient souls they are, the war will end. And people will look back at this time in horror.
We think what the world needs now are a whole lot more peaceniks — people dedicated to deep peace for all species. It’s time to claim that word as our own, as something to aspire to, as something you’d want your children to be. A world full of peaceniks, who choose compassionate forms of living (and especially eating), would be a much safer, healthier and happier place.
A Deep Peace Peacenik is a peace-loving person who loves nature and animals and wants to protect them by changing the way society sees and treats them. A Deep Peace Peacenik is vegan and might just have a penchant for music, the arts, poetry, dance, yoga, meditation, chocolate, chai .. and ginger cake!
Peaceniks view ahimsa as a spiritual goal. This sanskrit word has “non-injury” at its core which makes it more than non-violence or do no harm. It means that humans with big hearts and open minds carry no preconceptions and judgements about any other soul, viewing the world from a place of Divine Love and honouring the Divine in everything,
Become a Deep Peace Peacenik today, take the Deep Peace Promise and make a stand for deep peace for all species.
PS We love how the V peace sign, is a sign for veganism as well. Be a peaceful, loving vegan human, walk in least harm to others, act in loving kindness, and be the change for a world of deep peace for all species.
Thank you for joining our Deep Peace Tribe — Deep Peace Peaceniks!
NEWS: We have aligned with Yes We Vibe to bring you high vibe vegan stuff like boots which are vegan, water proof.. and fun. Being a peacenik is about rebelling against the muggle mundane, and living a life more enchanted and wild. My boots were a gift from my beautiful friend Jayne. I wear them around the sanctuary.. and I also wore them when I knew I was going to be standing for 7 hours in the mosh pit of an Ed Sheeran concert. Comfy plus. We walked home afterwards and I was still standing. Great boots!! Check out their colourful designs and let some light shine on the world!
